Nokia has finally announced future plans regarding the future of Symbian OS ^ 3. Purnima Kochikar, vice president of Nokia has released an open letter to the developers about it. Finnish mobile phone manufacturer is seen plans to keep releasing new smart phone that runs Symbian OS ^ 3, the same goes with regular updates for Symbian itself.
Nokia's new device is equipped by at least a 1GHz processor speed or more and have a faster GPU for Symbian ^ 3. Kochikar also said that Nokia would maximize his own location-based services as well as trying to make for Symbian smartphones ^ 3 can be more attractive and attract users.
Of course, that meant Kochikar also includes interface changes that had been used by Symbian. Nokia plans to give some updates that can change the user experience in the Symbian user interface. One of them, such as new primary display, a flexible new widgets, new icons (like the title picture), the browser is faster, newer navigation bar, and a fresh look for the Store and Ovi Ovi Maps, which includes the integration of media services social in Ovi Maps.
The first update is expected to be present in the middle of this year. Unfortunately there is still no answer with absolute certainty from Nokia about how long support for Symbian OS ^ 3 will survive. It seems that all the new phones will be answered after the first Windows 7 Phone made ??by Nokia released.
Until now Nokia is still promising it will not release support for Symbian ^ 3 in the near future. But certainly Nokia will release support for Symbian smart phones ^ 3 in stages and replace it with Windows Phone 7.
In some countries such as China, India, Russia, and the Turk. Smart phones based on Symbian ^ 3 will continue to be marketed simultaneously with the Windows Phone 7. Just wait for news of this development.
